Frederick D. Lewis

Mr. Lewis has served the Dallas County Court System as a Court Commissioner for the 191st District Court and as a Guardian Ad Litem for the 44th District Court. He has settled over 9,000 civil cases including complex federal employment matters, complex business litigation, complex church cases, divorce, child sexual abuse, probate and wrongful death.

As a young man he was a Legislative Staff Analyst for William Redman, Speaker of the House of the Illinois General Assembly. Mr. Lewis served as the Chief Staffer responsible for House Committees on Business Regulations, Judiciary Committee II, and Veterans Affairs and reconciling conflicts in legislation.

Mr. Lewis worked as a United Auto Workers Union assembly line production worker and then in management positions, through college and law school as a Legal Assistant in the Anti-Trust Section of the Legal Department of Caterpillar Tractor Company.

As a Staff Instructor in Caterpillar Tractor Company’s Service Training Division, Mr. Lewis taught dealer mechanics heavy equipment hydraulics, diesel and turbine engine systems, demonstrating technical understanding and knowledge.

A former administrator at Illinois State University as Coordinator of Student, Dr. Lewis was trained in Labor Relations and was responsible for the Southern Illinois District while serving as Division Personnel Manager for United Parcel Service.

Rev. Dr. Frederick D. Lewis

is a seasoned Pastor of 40+ years and experienced Arbitrator & Mediator. He grew up in the rough and tumble Illinois Politics starting out in as a 13-year-old runner for his precinct captain in the successful election of President John F. Kennedy in 1960. He later became a Precinct Captain in Chicago under Mayor Richard J. Daley. His Social Action and Political Action influences came from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. whom he marched within the Civil Rights Movement. Dr. Lewis has been involved in major political and social action events such as the 1963 March on Washington and the Million Man March. He was Granted an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from the A. M. E. Church for his work in the Civil Rights Movement in 1985 along with the MLK Drum Major Award. Dr. Lewis extensive background includes service on no less than 20 boards and commissions including 2 Governor’s appointments. Since coming to Dallas in 1995, Dr. Lewis service has been involved in serving the DFW Community
